Second spin-off of the Stargate SG1 series which takes place aboard the Ancient spacecraft Destiny.
Millions of years ago, the Alterans, a branch of the Ancients launch the Destiny to seed Stargates throughout the Milky Way.
They came to Earth where they built their galactic headquarters on Antartica but were forced to flee when their religious fellow Ancients the Ori attacked with a virus.
The Alterans took flight to the Pegasus Galaxy where events in the Stargate Atlantis series took place.
Present day, a secret unknown research base is under attack. The occupants of the base flee into a Stargate which opens out onto Destiny. The craft is millions of miles away from Earth and cannot be turned round.
Sounds a little like Atlantis and Star Trek Voyager, millions of miles away from Earth and all there is to do is explore. The leader of the group is Dr. Nicholas Rush. This is said to be a more grown up version, they'll be a bit more romance between the cast. You might as well make the
most of a bad situation. All whats available is on the craft. It also has a touch of Battlestar Galactica as they venture down onto planets to find items that can help them survive in space. Cameo appearances by well known characters are rumoured to be happening.
